The River Trip

Mitchell and I had a fabulous trip to Florida with his family! It was another annual trip to the river. We did a few river floats on the tubes, boat rides, laid out, and had incredible meals of course! Fondren and Melissa are some of the best chefs we know :). We had a great time getting to know Holly, David, and Andrew a little more! And, we definitely got to know Laura and Eddie, which we are fortunate for. The long Memorial Day Weekend went by too fast as always - we aren't quite ready to return to work tomorrow. But, we'll make it because it's only a 4 day week! Since I didn't take a single picture this weekend, I'll post some as soon as I get them from Heather! :) Have a great week!

Baby Emerson Arrived Tonight!

Kyle and Kandyce welcomed their first baby this evening! Little Emerson Blane Hardie was born after being a week overdue and Kandyce experiencing a full day of labor. He was 8lbs and 22 inches long! He's got dark hair! Very cute. I'll post pictures as soon as I get them!

A Fabulous Weekend!

Mitchell and I had a fabulous weekend! He did a guys night and I did a girl night on Friday with our fantastic friends. We officially bought our first boat! We are excited! It's named 'Fruity Pebble' because of it's many colors. It's a 17 Foot Carolina Skiff. It will serve as a great fishing boat for us and a great relaxation boat for just the two of us! We took it out Sunday and enjoyed a day of sun with Heather and Brandon and the twins and David and Holly and Andrew. And, I will admit that I had my first boat foul - I hit someone's trailor! YES - that's true. I only broke the trailer light and he was really nice about it. I guess I need driving lessons after all. :) Saturday, we had a great time at Ella and Addison's 4 year birthday party! We can't believe they are already 4 years old. Where do the years go? Heather and Brandon threw a fun party! So, now we are looking forward to heading to Florida for a few days and floating down the river. I can't wait!

11 Mile Run this Morning

I'm not sure what possessed me to go for an 11 mile run this morning, but I did! After a week of feeling burnt out on running, I amazingly felt the urge to just keep going :). It could have been the extra cosmopolitan I had last night with Matt and Linda and Mitchell on the front porch!! :) It's a beautiful Saturday! Mitchell is fishing and I'm about to embark on getting some cleaning and organizing done around the house. I need to bake cookies for our neighbors! Oh and spending some time with my pups! Have a wonderful weekend!!

A Wonderful Weekend!!

Mitchell and I had a fantastic weekend! We went camping at Lake Lanier with our fantastic friends - Josh, Lauren, Amr, Alison! What fun! We fished, laid out (that would be me - haha), grilled steaks, bonfire, games, talking, etc. It was fantastic! And, Toby and Bug got to enjoy it too. Toby even went swimming. He did such a great job, I was so proud of him. He's not one for water, but he's coming around now thanks to his dad!! That was Mitchell and I's first time camping together - wow! And, today we got to spend a wonderful Mothers Day with Sharon and Dee and Heather and CJ. I miss my mom and sisters and grandma but I'll be home shortly!! Holidays are harder than I think until I actually get in the moment and realize I'm missing out on A LOT with my side of the family in Indiana. But Mitchell's family is my own too! And they always make me remember just how lucky I am to have them!! So, now, Mitchell and I are trying to play catch up and get ready for the week! After a good run, the grocery, and getting some meals together for us for the week, I'm almost ready to crawl into bed - can't wait :). Have a fantastic week!

A relaxing weekend

Mitchell and I had a great weekend! He did a lot of yard work with Josh on Saturday - what a hard worker! I ran errands and visited Heather and the twins. Then, spent the rainy afternoon watching Lifetime Movies and napping with Toby!! We enjoyed some delicious barbecued ribs too :) Sunday has been gorgeous out! I went for a run and Mitchell and I spent the day outdoors doing yard work and cleaning the garage. Now, we are getting ready to head to small group! Above are some pics of Toby and Bug from the weekend - precious :). Tomorrow is Monday, which means another hard morning to get up and get going....

UGA Vet School Acceptance!!

Well, Mitchell and I have done a FANTASTIC job at keeping this a secret,(and so has our family a few friends - I'm so proud!!) but I got into vet school at the University of Georgia!! I'll be starting this fall and graduating in 2014! Although I am sad to leave Merial and all the wonderful friends I have come to know over the last 5 years, this is a wonderful opportunity! I am so thankful that I have such an amazing husband who supports me and is making every sacrifice for me to go! I also am truly thankful for my wonderful family who are supporting me as well. Mitchell and I couldn't do it without them! And, of course, our terrific friends who have been great along this past year (the select few who knew). THANK YOU!!! We ask for prayers and support as we head into this amazing journey over the next four years. God is truly good - ALL THE TIME! :)

Boating on Lake Lanier

Mitchell and I had a fantastic weekend! We did lots of yard/house work, spent time outdoors, hung out with great neighbors and enjoyed delicious ribs! Mitchell smoked some yummy pork, and we got to enjoy Sunday on Lake Lanier in the 'dingy' boat. We had beautiful weather!! Mitchell did some fishing and I soaked up some UV rays :). It was a great weekend! I'm lucky to have such a wonderful husband :) and two wonderful

Florida Vacation!

Mitchell and I just returned from an amazing vacation to Florida with the Bartels and Attaways! We had beautiful weather and enjoyed a lot of R&R on the beach :). THANK YOU Sharon and Bill! We had a fabulous time!!

We celebrated Easter with a sunrise church service on the beach our first morning there, which was wonderful! Bill treated us girls to a Swedish Massage on Tuesday! That was heavenly!! During the week, it was nice to watch Ella and Addison show us their swimming skills that they've worked so hard at learning during swim lessons. We enjoyed the sun while laying on the beach or at the pool all day long! We enjoyed a few nights out for dinner and got to indulge in several delicious meals made by ourselves and Heather & Brandon! Mitchell and Brandon took two fishing trips and yes, Brandon did fall in the water! OOPS!! :) We took a few bike rides, rode the golf cart, and I went for a run on the beach every day! I wish we had a beach in Buford to run on - wouldn't that be nice :). And, I know we'll all miss Peg at the pool...haha!!

It feels great to be home though with Toby and Bug! We missed them so much!! Considering the fact that Toby wouldn't come to me when we got home, I think he was a little upset that we left him behind. It didn't take him long to warm up to his mom though :). He's a momma's boy!!!

All in All, we had an AMAZING time! Thanks again Sharon and Bill!!

Dinner with a great Crew!

Mom and Dad and grandma drove through Atlanta on their way back to Indiana, so we got to have dinner with them! Bill and Sharon planned a great evening at Rays on the River, where we had a delicious dinner, yummy birthday cake for my mom, and some great wine!! It was wonderful spending time with them!

A week of work on the house!

Mitchell and spent the evenings working on the house! We potted the ferns in the baskets, finished painting the guest room, painted the closet, and started in the bonus room. We can't even begin to list all details that need fixed upstairs, but good thing we are motivated because it's going to take a lot of energy.

The Rigsby Ferns!!

We are ready for Spring! :) The weeds are ready to be pulled, the ferns are hanging on the front porch, and the temperature is getting warmer! :)

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Mitchell and I spent the weekend apart, so Toby and Bug and I are excited to see him when he arrives home! Mitchell spent time in Thomasville with his dad, hunting turkey and visiting his grandparents. He brought home our summer boat - the 'Dinghy'- can't wait to take it on Lake Lanier :). I stayed home to enjoy time in the house since we've been on the go so much lately. The guest room is all primed and ready to be painted! The bonus room is ready to be sanded and primed and painted, etc. We will be busy this week! I did some shopping and hung out with my wonderful friend Amy! And, what a beautiful Saturday! It was in the 70s and sunny here! So, it was a relaxing weekend and we are re-energized to head back to work in the morning! The dogs are re-energized to relax again all day in the garage - poor babies!

Josh & Lauren's Wedding!

We got to attend the beautiful wedding of our friends Josh and Lauren Brown! It was such a pretty evening and we had lots of fun! It's rare that Mitchell and I get to dance all night :). That was my first time at Botanical Gardens in Athens too, which was gorgeous! We wish Josh and Lauren all the best in their marriage!

Guest Room/Nursery Renovation

Mitchell and I started patching the million tiny holes in the wall of the second guest room, which will one day be a nursery! Next, we will sand the walls and add the paint! It really is amazing how people take care of their homes!

A great weekend with friends and family!

Mitchell and I had a great weekend with friends and family! We celebrated in the festivities of Lauren and Josh getting married this week! Us girls had a bachelorette party and the guys hung at Josh's hunting land for his bachelor party on Friday night. Very exciting! Saturday, we got to spend a relaxing evening at Granddaddy and Dee's home in the mountains. And, we got to indulge in the best Beef Wellington ever! Thanks to Granddaddy! What a treat :). We met CJ and Savannah's new puppy Nacho. An 8 month old jack russell terrier mix. A good addition to the family! And, tonight, we had small group. I have to say once again that we are so blessed with such awesome friends! What a great group of people! And, Rebecca made a delicious meal for us :).

Sarah & John's visit to Atlanta !

Sarah and John arrived in Atlanta around 3:30pm and yes it took us 2 hours to drive in Atlanta rush hour traffic just to get to our home! But, at least they got to experience the true ATL road rage - haha!! Mitchell and I are so glad they came! We had a great relaxing night at the house, just talking and making the Rigsby Fajitas! YUM! Mitchell and John stayed up a little too late - but that's ok! It's vacation! Saturday, we went to Murphy's for brunch - delicious! We did some shopping then Sarah and I got our pedicures!! The guys did some shopping at Bass Pro and then played a mean game of corn hole with our neighbors. We are off to McCray's Tavern for dinner and then Sarah and John have an early flight back home tomorrow morning. It's been a great visit, but as always, too short! We have a fantastic family!
